Some works are born of a landscape. Others are born of a pain we cannot name.

A tree. A chrysalis. A moment suspended between what we were and what we become.

She is not yet a butterfly. She is no longer what she was.

This painting was born for my grandmother. For her memories, which faded one by one. For that inner world that slowly, silently extinguished.

The chrysalis does not choose its metamorphosis. It goes through it.

And then one day, it flies away.

Free. Finally free. Free from the body that had trapped it. Free from all that it could no longer bear.

The Final Metamorphosis is for her. For her flight.
