There are places where time stretches out in the grass.
A tree old enough to have seen many seasons pass. Its double trunk, covered in moss. Buttercups everywhere. And a cow, lying at the edge of the meadow, asking nothing of anyone.
Nothing is pressing. Nothing is missing.
I walk through these meadows without seeing them. Ordinary meadows, humble ones. Then I stop. And they become a kingdom.
No need to go far. You only have to stay long enough for peace to settle in.
